A Note from the Author…
I’ve written and rewritten several ways to begin this note to you. My first thought was to apologize for not haven written in so long and then to list all the reasons why I placed everything before my writing. But I’ve grown to learn and understand that I should never apologize for having to rearrange my priorities depending on the seasons of life. Another option was to list my academic background, in third person, to help validate my audacity to write, anything. But as I am still on an academic journey, quite possibly the most important trek thus far, I realized that didn’t quite work either. Frustrated, I almost gave up and I found it best I get straight to the point, so here it goes:
My relationship with writing has been an emotional rollercoaster that I have too often felt ashamed to share. However, in accepting that we are all on this universe to help one another, I am sharing some of my most personal tests, trials, and triumphs, in hopes that if I can help at least one person, then I will have fulfilled my purpose. I do not claim to have the answers to everything—or anything for that matter—but my prayers are that as I allow for God to work through me, He may move in and through your lives as well. I know that not everyone will like what I have to say—there may be several people who disagree—and that is okay. I hope to grow as much from this journey as I pray I am helping others grow. Thank you for taking time to read what is so dear to my heart and for allowing me into yours. May the words you read encourage you to hope, to dream, to live and most importantly, to love, always.
